Sharing My Journey with AVI

When I first arrived at INSA Lyon in 2021, I felt lost and uncertain about where to begin. Thankfully, I was introduced to AVI (Association of Vietnamese Students at INSA Lyon) – a student organization whose mission is to support Vietnamese international students like myself. Thanks to the heartfelt support of AVI, I not only found stability in a new country but also had the chance to give back to the Vietnamese student community at INSA Lyon.

From the very beginning, I was touched by the sense of unity and warmth within the AVI family. I treasure the gatherings, the lively conversations, and the cheerful cooking sessions we shared. The cultural events hosted by AVI were more than just fun meetups – they were meaningful opportunities for me to reconnect with the traditions and festivals of my homeland.

But AVI offered more than social bonds; it gave me a platform to express my creativity and passion for design. As the poster designer for AVI events, I was able to bring my artistic ideas to life. My designs were not only appreciated by fellow members but also played a role in promoting and elevating the organization’s activities.
(You can explore some of these works under the Arts section of my Activities & Interests.)

In my second year, I was honored to take on the role of AVI’s Secretary. And in the 4th year, I had a chance to become a vice-president for the association. It was a valuable opportunity for me to grow in areas such as management, event planning, and teamwork.

These unforgettable experiences with AVI have taught me the value of connection and mutual support in an unfamiliar environment. AVI has become more than a student organization – it has become my second family here in France.

Being part of AVI has been a deeply meaningful chapter in my study abroad journey, and it's a story I proudly share in my personal profile and portfolio.
